Hawaii Day
On Thursday April 22nd our facility hosted a “Hawaii Day”. Dietary and Activities decorated in Hawaiian
style with palm trees, grass skirts and lanterns. Activities made a volcano with the help of residents. James
English built the frame and everyone else paper machined and painted. The final result was an impressive
volcano that had crepe paper lava continuously flowing.
Everyone learned about Hawaii in the morning. We made Hawaiian ambrosia to serve at the afternoon
party. Dietary prepared a Hawaiian meal which included pulled pork, fruited coleslaw, tropical rice, grilled
pineapple slices, topped off with a 3 layered Hawaiian paradise cake!
In the afternoon everyone got their photo taken in front of a tropical mural with faces framed by a life
preserver ring. Everyone enjoyed the Hawaiian fun and games with prizes.
