On Friday Oct. 9, 2009, St.
Johnsville Rehab and Nursing
Center had the honor to host a
wedding ceremony.
Eugene McDonald, a resident of
the facility, married his long time
girlfriend, Shirley VanAvery.
The wedding took place in the
Activities Department. The room
was decorated with the colors of
autumn, pumpkins and flowers of
the season. Streamers were hung
which gave the feeling of being in a
quaint little chapel (envisioned by
activities assistant, Sheryl Ursi).
The couple was married by
Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams of
Scotch Bush Methodist Church in
Lassesville.
The couples best man and maid of
honor were Bob Otty and Lisa
Hubbard both employees of the
facility.
A small reception followed the
ceremony with many residents
and employees joining them in
their celebration.
